Using family & friends rather than straight to a call response centre.

Most people have enough friends, family and neighbours nearby who are willing to help in an emergency. People who are known to the wearer and can be with them quickly are usually the best people to help. Then if an ambulance is needed they can give good information to help triage the call and also make the wearer more comfortable.

We do not want to force our customers to pay for something they do not want or need, however we recognise that some people may have responders whose lives mean they will not always be available to help. Our Fallback Response Centre service can be added for another £35 a year/£3 a month (ex VAT). This is delivered by a Telecare Services Association platinum accredited alert response centre run by a local council which means that an alert will always be dealt with.  If an alert comes to them they will try to contact the wearer and their responders but if they can't will call the emergency services and pass on any information you have saved on the system for such circumstances.

The emergency services do not allow automated calls to go direct to their 999 response centres.
