Missed I'm Ok checks

Modified on Wed, 19 Apr, 2023 at 9:50 AM

If you use our I'm OK checks you'll know they happen within a couple of minutes of the time it is booked and your wristband will vibrate to ask if you are OK and you respond by pressing either button (but just one) to say you don't need help.

There are a few reasons why the alert might not be delivered.

  1. The wearer has already confirmed they are OK
To enable wearers to not have to wait for the buzz, the Acticheck system recognises a single button press in the 15 minutes preceding the scheduled time of the alert as a confirmation that the wearer is OK this time.

A small hack to see if this is what has happened is that on the wearer's activity chart the time of the confirmation will be exactly the time of the scheduled check. When a button is pressed responding to a vibration the timing is always some seconds after the scheduled check.

  2. The wristband appears to be out of range of the base station
If we don't have a connection to the wristband we will assume that the wearer has gone out.

We will send an email message to the wearer (if we have an email address for them ) and any responders who have administration status. Please do check these emails as, on the rare occasion there is a fault with the puck, this can help us to get the system back up and running.

  3. The wristband is reporting it is not being worn
This is likely to occur when someone has left their wristband at home and they are away from home but could also indicate that the wearer is not using the system.

Again this is will be reported by email.

  4. There is no connection to the base station
This might be planned, indicate a power outage, that the base has inadvertently had its power removed or that there is a fault with the base.

Again an email is sent reporting the situation.
