The whole system works by getting information from the wristband to our servers where the system is managed through the myacticheck.com dashboard.
The wristband works on a frequency (869MHz) that is set aside for social/domestic alarms across Europe and has strict protocols to ensure resilience of transmission.
This is not a wifi frequency, so the base station picks up the transmissions within its home & garden range and sends them to the server and receives responses and transmits back to the wristband.
When further afield the wristband can automatically switch to connect with his smartphone if he is running our app. The phone will then send its location in the event of an emergency.
Smartphones are not a reliable conduit in the home as they are often left in a different room, often for charging, where they might lose the BT link meaning coverage is not resilient.
