Range testing

Modified on Tue, 26 Nov at 10:13 AM

You are advised to test the Acticheck life-saving wristband by going further away (such as the end of the garden) or to places where the signal might be poor (such as a garage or cellar).

During the test, the wristband should be worn and the base must be connected to the internet.

Log in to your account at myacticheck.com and go to MY BAND. Set the Range Test switch to ON then click on Save Changes. The band will now buzz every time you press a button. The lack of a buzz would mean you are out of range. The range can be improved by repositioning your Acticheck base as high as possible and clear of obstructions. Alerts are disabled during the range test which times out automatically after 15 minutes.

If you cannot log into your account you can still range test but this does have the risk of calling an alert, so be sure to press a single button after 5 seconds whether or not you have felt a buzz - unless you really do want to call for help.

The band buzzing demonstrates that the message has got to the system and back (i.e. everything is working well). The lack of a buzz would mean you might want to reposition your Acticheck base.
